EPISODE 107 WITH KAREEM ANABTAWI

πŸŽ™The full episode is available for listening on:

The days of "spray and pray" investing are done, at least according to Kareem Anabtwai, the Chief Investment Officer for Annex Investments. Kareem believes the future of the VC space lies in collaboration, conscious, considered alignments between startups and investors, and, above all else, everyone involved doing their homework.

Kareem started his career in investment banking fresh out of college. When his employer closed down around the time the pandemic hit the globe, Kareem decided to focus on his true passion: finding promising startups in the tech space with a strong focus on social impact and giving them the capital, the connections and resources they need to thrive. He soon found himself at Annex Investments, being mentored by its founder and CEO Ahmed Nasser Al Nowais. Today, he has already closed two significant deals, and with his keen eye for spotting future changemakers and more deals in the pipeline, Kareem is destined to make waves in this industry sector.

Kareem joined our host Vuk Zlatarov in our studio to discuss how venture capitalists can benefit MENA's ecosystem by strategically investing in startups to which they can add value. They also spoke about the importance of not getting starstruck by the "hottest" deals, and how investors can recognise a good deal when one is presented to them.

Tune in to the full episode to find out:

- Why it is crucial for startups and investors alike to do their research when considering a deal
